Announcements
- We STRONGLY encourage you to do this lab on campus for various reasons. But, the most important one is that if you try to do this at home using VPN, your GUI window will become unbearably slow.
- If you still insist, here is how to set up VPN to do this lab remotely: (download pdf file).
- Submission instruction: You are to combine all your pages into a single PDF and post it on Canvas.
- This is a reminder that you need to analyze and explain the various graphs that you submit in the homework. I got some questions from students regarding "whether to analyze", and therefore I am clarifying it for all of you. The assignment questions clearly say "draw and analyze".
- For all those who are not able to see the Calibre option in the Virtuoso layout window, please check that the ".cdsinit" file in your directory has the "." and not just "cdsinit". If not, rename it to ".cdsinit" and restart virtuoso and you will see the option. This instruction is written in red font in Tutorial 2.
- You are to submit a color-printed hard copy report. Avoid adding too many pages in your report. Compactness is key.
- For a die snapshot which shows only cells (bullet no. 2 in "What to turn in"), turn off all metalX layers along with Lx layers. This will make the cells more visible. Please turn in color print outs of all the layouts. You can use you weekly allotted Buzzcard printing resources to get color prints from library.
